Naracoorte and Penola Veterinary Centre is searching for a qualified Certificate IV Vet Nurse or Veterinary Technician to join our Naracoorte team for an immediate start. Experience is preferred, but all applications will be considered.
The job will be primarily located in our Naracoorte Clinic which is a purpose built clinic with x-ray, ultrasound, sterile surgery, inhouse Idexx blood machines and equine facilities. We also have a smaller branch clinic located in Penola in the lovely Coonawarra Region and a larger branch clinic opening in the coming months in Casterton, Victoria. Our Naracoorte clinic is generally staffed with 3 vets to 3-4 nurses and the Penola/Casterton clinics with 1 vet to 2 nurses.
The position is available for immediate start on a casual basis for approximately 6 months, with a strong possibility of going permanent part time, which is a 9 day fortnightly roster with 1-2 Saturday morning shifts per month. There may also be times when you are required to travel to our Penola or Casterton branch clinic’s to cover shifts.
The work is varied and interesting, including general animal care, consult duties, surgical nursing, medical nursing and assisting in hospital management of various cases. From cats and dogs, to birds and kangaroos we see it all. There may also be opportunity to assist the vet on farm with various procedures.
